Meet Iz

I know I just got Grace (well, in late July) but my friend who's sold me lots of doll stuff and dolls purchased an Isabelle to sell (basically to me, since I desperately wanted her) so I used some of my car-wash money to buy her. Then my friend got a lot of all of Isabelle's purple stuff and her books, so I purchased those as well, so I'm about a third of the way done with collecting for her, excepting her dance closet thing which I can't afford. I'll be doing a cheap version with a doll wardrobe I already own.

   I really don't like the nickname "Izzy" a whole lot, so her nickname is Iz. Yeah, and it's pronounced like "is". So Iz was given Saige's old pink rectangle glasses, but currently she's glasses-less. She looks really hipster in them, but I haven't decided if that's her personality yet.
   She's definitely a dancer, and will probably run the Dance Studio in Pleasanton. She's a bit obsessed with the Nutcracker, and really likes hot pink.
   I'm really excited to design her room, and I'm going to use the drawing of her room in one of her books!

Love,

Maryellen Giveaway at Doll Diaries!

So there's this little giveway on Doll Diaries, where they are giving away a lovely Maryellen doll to a lucky winner!

Just head on over to Doll Diaries and read the instructions at the bottom of her post!

Maryellen will be joining the Fellowship eventually, I'm not sure when {if I don't win her}. She will probably be Emilie's cousin and will run the diner in town, with Molly and Emilie as waitresses. I've already chosen a cute waitress dress pattern and am planning to use the same colors as Angie's outfit in Agent Carter!

See you later,

Willow

Getting Grace || Part One

photography and {most} editing by my sister darrion, {sincerelydarrion.blogspot.com}

Here's Miss Grace in her box!{I swear I went through almost every Grace in the store to find one that had eyes that weren't funky looking.}
That's my issue with blue-eyed dolls, you can tell if they have wonky eyes {you can also tell with hazel eyes pretty well, but not as much}.
Her full name is Gracelynn Elisha Thomas.
I did a video review of when me opening her at home for the first time since the store, so my reactions are pretty fresh, I hadn't really done much with her yet.
Unfortunately, the video didn't focus properly, but I'm still planning to post it someday, once I figure out how to edit it. I keep touching her hair in the video, because it's so darn smooth and silky!
Grace also headed down to Southern California for my cousin's wedding in the beginning of August, but I didn't really get any pictures of her there {dumb, huh?}.
So the first day I got her, I wasn't really up for a photoshoot, so my sister grabbed our camera and Grace and got some awesome shots of her. And because I'm too lazy to edit them, she's been doing that as well.

Stay tuned for Part Two! And stay tuned for pictures from my friend's doll collection, more AG store photos, and Maryellen's store photos {soon} !

Who Is It?

I purchased a new doll at the AG store last week, to take along to San Diego.

Can you guess who?

{that last one makes it easy, am I right?}

Saige in High Low Tulip Tunic

 Doll: Saige
 Dress: High Low Tulip Tunic made by me with fabric from Hobby Lobby
 Pants: Saige's Sweater Outfit's jeggings
 Hair Doodad: Bought from a lady at a homeschool conference

   I handmade this high-low tunic a year or so ago, adapting the Liberty Jane Colonial pattern to my taste.
  This was a test for Clara's Bells of Saint John dress, but it turned out too short, so I call it a tunic ;)

American Girl Visit || Girl of the Year Grace

   Hey guys! You know how I promised you pictures from American Girl? Well, here they are!
   My younger sister Darrion { http://sincerelydarrion.blogspot.com/ } can sometimes be bored at AG, so she'll take charge of our camera and take pictures of stuff for this blog for me, so all of these photos are by her.

   We didn't get photos of all of Grace's stuff, but D got lots of cool pictures of Grace's Patisserie and Pastry Cart! We had to get home soon, because it was like, six at night, that's why there aren't very many people around.

La Patisserie was smaller than we {me, my grandma and D} thought it was going to be. It's still pretty big, but small than you would imagine.
 The stuff in it is adorable though, as you will see.

Look! It's my hand! Hi hand!
{I have small hands and short fingers if you think that it looks like a kid's hand}

Grace in her Opening-Night Outfit and Pastry Cart, in a display case I might add.

{Those are awful for taking pictures through. Don't ever use flash with those things. You'll go blind.}

These D took on the outside of the store in the outdoor walk area.

And this is yours truly pointing at the new #62, my closest look-a-like doll yet! Of course, Melissa is the look-a-like doll that I own {#25} but this new doll, whom I've dubbed Serena Matthews, is the one who resembles me most.

What do you think?
{My skin looks paler from the light than it probably does in real life, by the way}

Overall we had a fun time at AG, I enjoyed getting an up close look at stuff that I haven't seen as of yet. I purchased Caroline's Nightgown and Caroline's Spencer and Bonnet, which I will be photographing soon.

We will be heading back to AG soon to go to the cafe and to buy some more stuff with my friend who hasn't been there in a while. I will probably be buying more Caroline stuff, so that I'm prepared when she's imprisoned in the archives. So look out for that someday.
It takes half an eternity to watermark and edit these photos. I'll be working on editing the BeForever photos D took as well, so look out for those too. And a Nahji Jasmine photoshoot.

Family Profile || the Matthews || Sonali and NJ

Sonalia Anjali Matthews {Sonali} age 17, and Nahji Jasmine Matthews {NJ} age 8.

Sonali's family came to America from India several generation ago, and they're quite a hardworking family! They were the "Untouchables" in the Indian caste system. America was the Land of Opportunity for them, and they've done well for themselves.
But they never forgot what their ancestors went through, so Sonali's parents adopted little Nahji Jasmine from an orphanage in India.

The Matthews are an entrepreneurial family, and they run the bistro in the town of Pleasanton. Sonali enjoys cooking for the bistro while NJ hostesses and takes phone orders, while Jess is the waitress. Sonali hopes to hire someone be the cook so she can take over NJ's job and let her little sister hang out with her friends and do her homework.

Sonali is my boho girl, and loves the gypsy style that entails. She's determined to decorate her apartment and her bistro with that style in mind. She can get rather bossy, and always knows what to do. Her motto is "Keep Calm and Carry On". Her best friend's name is Chrissa.
I bought Sonali with some gift money with a free shipping deal in August of 2009.

 NJ is a sweet, if a bit mischievous little girl. She always is ready to help her sister and her friends. Her best friend's name is Dell, and she lives far away currently, but has plans to come and move in with the Matthews temporarily.
Nahji Jasmine was my 3rd Hearts for Hearts doll, after Perrine and Lily. She's probably one of my favorite H4Hs, simply because she's so cute!

Matthews family selfie! Couldn't help myself ;)

What other family profiles should I do?
Should I do profiles of dolls I do not yet have but plan to get?
